Praesidium Academy Child Protection Training

In February of 2020 Kiwanis International began requiring for Child Protection through Praesidium Inc.

Kiwanis SLP Advisors, district SLP Administrators, Risk and Youth Protection managers should complete six modules pre-assigned by their Kiwanis role.

Required courses appear under the Learning Path for each person. Once completed, they do not have to be retaken for two years.

Chaperones to youth hosted SLP events should complete the Chaperone youth safety training module. Names of chaperones should be emailed to youthprotection@kiwanis.org to be added manually.

The following chart shows the various roles and which modules are required.

How to Log In

The first step is to make sure your account to log on to the Kiwanis International web site is set up.

Go to: https://reporting.kiwanisone.org/ and log in to your Kiwanis account. If you need assistance with that, contact kiwanisone@kiwanis.org.

When you log in, you will see the following screen:

Note that the "Create Praesidium Account" option disappears once an account has been created. If you get an error message on this step, contact youthprotection@kiwanis.org for assistance.

Once your account is set up, you are ready to log in to Praesidium. Go to https://www.praesidiumacademy.com/ and click on Sign In in the upper right. You will then be taken to the following screen:

Log in using the same e-mail address you used to log on to the Kiwanis International web site. If this is your first time accessing the Praesidium site, click on "Forgot your password?" to create a password.

Once you are logged in, you will be able to see your Learning Dashboard. An example is below.

You are now ready to begin taking courses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much does the course cost to complete?

A: They are free to Kiwanis members.

Q: How long do I have to complete the youth protection training modules?

A: Please complete them as soon as possible during your tenure as SLP volunteer. Chaperones to an SLP event need to complete the course prior to the event. Once the course is completed, it is good for two years from month it was completed.

Q: Are school faculty advisors required to complete the online youth protection courses?

A: School/Faculty Advisors are not required to completed youth protection courses unless they are serving as an "official chaperone" off school grounds at an SLP-sponsored event. Then they will need to complete three chaperone courses.

Note: If the faculty advisor is not a Kiwanian, they won't be able to use the logon procedure above. They or the club's Kiwanis advisor should email the faculty advisor's name and email address to youthprotection@kiwanis.org so links to create a learning account can be sent to them.
