Since 1998, Central Adirondack Kiwanis has placed a dozen comfortable benches every year along Main Street in both Old Forge and Thendara.
When our resort community population soars from 2,500 during winter to over 25,000 each summer, these benches become greatly appreciated. Weary summer visitors take the opportunity to sit, rest, and watch the world go by.
A Kiwanis medallion on each bench demonstrates that Kiwanis is active here in the Central Adirondacks.
On May 3 Brad Pearson and Steve Evans met with local Kiwanians and Key Club members to refurbish all the benches. On May 15 they were placed along Main Street.
