On the first day of the new school year, and with the assistance of the Greater Ridgewood Youth Council in Queens, Fordham Kiwanis delivered 80 backpacks, athletic equipment, and dozens of board games to Saint Ignatius School located in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx.
This Jesuit middle school was chosen to receive these items in recognition of a new Builders Club that was chartered there over the summer with the help of Father Vinny Marchionni (far right in photo) who will serve as the Builders club adviser.
According to Fordham Kiwanis president Mike Feierman (far left in photo), the new Builders club members hope to plan joint service projects with members in Fordham Prep Key Club and Fordham University Circle K, sponsored by Fordham Kiwanis since 1970.
