Tracy Schober is the Executive Director at Autism Society Greater Hudson Region, which supports five service areas (Education, Advocacy, Support, Community, and Information & Referral) in Eastern New York. Tracy's career in Human Services spans more than 25 years in various roles, encompassing outreach, program development, and supervision, including day and residential settings, service coordination, childcare, and ECHO Autism Lead.
Tracy develops and implements trainings at local and national levels. These include training workplaces on best practices to include Autistic and Neurodiverse employees, educating parents on the NYS Dignity for All Students Act to support a safe and inclusive environment for all students regardless of their neurotype, training for police officers in best practices for traffic stops for Autistic drivers and interactions with youth and adults on the Autism Spectrum.
Programmatically, Tracy collaborates with a library to provide inclusive programming in a welcoming environment where children can be themselves, and parents and children can interact without judgement. The first iteration of this program, Ausome Oops! Inclusive Art, is leading the way for more inclusive opportunities for youth of all ages.
Tracy is an advanced doctoral student, pursuing her Doctor of Public Administration degree at Capella University. She holds an MPA from Marist University, a BS in Physical Education from SUNY Brockport, and an AAS in Recreation Leadership from ECC. Tracy earned a certificate as A Social Change Ambassador from the AAUW, is an approved Housing Navigator and a Trainer for Autism Society including Autism Society of America's Safety on the Spectrumâ„¢ - First Responders program. She's an American Society for Public Administration and a Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society member, and most importantly a proud mother of an autistic adult
