Amityville Busy With Projects

Early on Saturday, Dec. 2, a group of Amityville Kiwanians took down their Field of Honor. For the 10th year in a row, a field of American flags in honor of Veterans Day, has been installed at the local high school. Flags fly for the entire month of November.

Members then went to continue another annual tradition: joining forces with one of our Fire Department's Company for many years - they sell Christmas trees, we sell Christmas wreaths. A winning combination.  Village volunteers all, and all of us working for the benefit of our community.

This year, our gorgeous Christmas wreaths featured hand-made bows, which were a big hit. Kiwanians purchased yards and yards of ribbon, made bows, and decorated over 300 wreaths. Proceeds will benefit Kamp Kiwanis, scholarships to Amityville residents, Good Samaritan Hospital Center, and families in need within our community.
