Peninsula Kiwanis sponsored The Anchor Swim-a-thon. Volunteers obtain sponsors who pledge money for each lap swam. Each swimmer who raises $250 is awarded a sweatshirt provided by Peninsula Kiwanis. The event raised more than $35,000 this year and Peninsula Kiwanis provided 260 sweatshirts.
ANCHOR (Answering the Needs of Citizens with Handicaps through Organized Recreation) is a comprehensive year-round program serving 1,200 children and adults with special needs.
