On June 25 the Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks held the 7th annual Kiwanis Paddle Classic. There were 36 participants in 28 boats, canoes and kayaks in the race.
There were two races, which departed from the Town of Webb Navigation Dock on Old Forge Pond. A 6 Mile Race from Old Forge lakefront to Treasure Island, on First Lake, and back, and a 12 Mile Race from Old Forge lakefront to Alger Island, on Fourth Lake, and back.
Winner of the 6-mile race, in the Recreational Division was Joseph Rusin of Endicott with a time of 62 minutes and 50 seconds.
Winner of the 12 mile, in the Marathon Division, was James MacCory of West Henrietta. He paddled the distance in 1 hour 39 minutes 4 seconds.
