Aktion Club

As we start the 2020-21 program year, we must acknowledge that this year will certainly look and feel different from previous years.
In some instances, due to state directives, Aktion Club members living in group homes may not be allowed to attend in-person meetings. Technology, if available, may be a solution, but some Aktion Club advisors are finding that even Zoom meetings may be difficult to coordinate with our members.
If you’re not meeting, your club has some options:  Kiwanis International is willing to excuse dues collection this year for Aktion Clubs that cannot meet. They have created a special charter status for clubs temporarily not meeting due to COVID.  In order to get switched to that status, the club Advisor MUST call KI at 1-800-KIWANIS and speak with Member Services.
KI is also providing extra resources online, including monthly meeting kits that will include meeting agendas, and the following:
    • Ideas for safe, socially distanced service projects.
    • Message and information from our service partners.
    • Leadership lessons and information  on community impact.
We will be providing links to these kits on the resources page of www.aktionclub-ny.org as they become available. These kits are designed to keep our clubs serving and leading safely.
Please reach out to jaimie@aktionclub-ny.org if you have any questions or need more information. For those clubs still serving their communities, please send pictures and write-ups to submission@aktionclub-ny.org for publication on the website.
