Happy New Year! I would like to thank all the clubs who have already participated in this year’s First Lady’s Project! First Lady Deb’s projects asks for clubs around the district to look for ways to help a specific group of homeless people in their communities -- students.
So, what can clubs do? A primary need for many of these students is the lack of basic living and school supplies. Clubs can contact their local school districts and offer kits to help the students. The kits could include:
Diapers
Wipes
Good children's books
Fleece blankets - clubs can make them!
Notebooks
Pens and pencils
Inexpensive calculators
Deck of cards - regular, Uno, etc.
Coloring books
Crayons
Socks
Toothbrush, toothpaste
Shampoo and conditioners (hotel freebies)
Laundry soap
Deodorant
Hairbrush, comb
School supplies
Journals for older kids
When you have completed your project, submit your completion form. The instructions are on the form.
