Governor's Project - "100+ Military Kampers"
It's with great pleasure to give an update on the Governor's Project.
As of this writing, we have donations for 40 Military Kampers. This leaves us 60 to go.
What a great start.
What makes this project so great is the fact that we can give back to the military families that have given us so much, by sending a child to Kamp. By sending a child to Kamp, we will be giving them a memory of a lifetime.
We have a long way to go to reach our goal. With a collective cooperation from all our clubs and divisions, this project will succeed. Please consider your position and become a part of history.
There is a great opportunity to change a child's life by sending them to kamp.
This project will work because of you. For the words we live by, "One child, One community". This is a win-win for everyone, the time is now to do the right thing.
Governor Hank Baker has asked me to clarify a point. We will be accepting donations and pledges for as long as it takes to reach our goal. The governor will be honored to accept your pledges during Mid-Year and during his Governor's Visit to your divisions.
I would like to thank Foundation President Sal Anelli for all his help. Special thanks to Long Island North Division Lt. Gov. Jeffery Stone for his enthusiasm and early commitment to the project.
Special thanks to Michael and Lorraine Kasprzyk of the Holland club in the Niagara Frontier South Division for their personal pledge to send four military children to kamp.
A very special thanks and acknowledgement to President Jian Yu of the Kiwanis Club of Douglaston, and to Queen's East Lt. Gov. Sandy Liew for their pledge to send 10 military children to Kamp.
Outstanding & Fantastic.
"When someone shares, everyone wins."
On behalf of Governor Hank and co-chairs Past Lt. Gov. Keith Cummings and Michele Geraci, we thank you for your commitment to this great Governor's Project.
