The more we continue our support of Pediatric Trauma the more we can appreciate what our funding provides:

On March 23 Cohen Children’s Trauma Center hosted the first annual Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Foundation Grand Rounds. Grand Rounds is an important teaching tool of medical education and inpatient care, presenting medical problems and current treatments. More than 100 pediatric trauma care providers (including doctors, residents and medical students) attended.
Dr. Barbara A. Gaines, a professor of surgery and and clinical and translational science, presented on the topic of "Acute Traumatic Coagulopathy and Injured Kids – What Does It All Mean?".
Dr. Gaines is a critical care surgery specialist in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC (a Level 1 Trauma Center).
You as Kiwanis members have so much to be proud of. We are making a difference today and in the fture.
Thanks to each and every one of you for your continued support.
