The "4 KIWANIS" INITIATIVE

For 2014-2015 I have developed an initiative named "4 KIWANIS".
This will be a membership and service initiative, targeting education, growth, club development and SLP sponsorship.

4 KIWANIS

EDUCATION: An expansion of opportunities for member education at the club, division and district level. This will include a round of workshops facilitated by Lanton Lee of the Kiwanis International staff across our district.

GROWTH: 4 KIWANIS targets growth at the club level, asking clubs to strive for a "Plus 4" for the administrative year. This means members to replace those lost for any reason, and new added Members and newly opened clubs to increase our service potential in our communities.

SUPPORT: Time and time again I have heard our Sponsored Programs are the "best things we do". It is time to put our efforts, and our funds, where our mouths are, and make sure our SLP clubs and members have the tools, materials, education and support they need to be the very best they can be.

SUPPORT also means efforts to support our Kamp Kiwanis in Taberg through Kamper sponsorship and financial support to improve the infrastructure at the property.

SUPPORT also means a dedication to support financially the Kiwanis International ELIMINATE Program, and help meet the Kiwanis goal of $110 million in dedicated funds to rid the world of maternal and neonatal tetanus.

CELEBRATE: In this centennial year of our organization, we will celebrate with local activities, and with two visits by International President Dr. John Button and his wife Debbie to our district. President John will visit Buffalo in November and Long Island in April. ALL KIWANIANS are invited to join in the celebration and more information will be sent on the website and via Constant Contact.

4 KIWANIS in 2014-15 will be more than a catch phrase. The plan is for us to take a long look at our policies, procedures, conventions and activities to make them clear, easy to understand and available to all of our members.
