Hello from the Governor.

Last weekend was our 34th Mid-Winter Conference.

It was weekend of training, education, fun and laughs.

I thought it was one of the best Mid-Winter Conferences I have attended.

We had some much to offer, keynote speaker, workshops, media, child protection, ask the Governor and many other workshops.

I was amazed to see new faces at the convention. Some faces that have returned. There were many NEW MEMBERS and FIRST TIMERS.

Each member received a welcome goody bag and also a gift from the district. Also, a free raffle for early bird registration a 55" LED TV. The winner was Susan Vail. A new member won a 32" TV. We had live auctions, baskets, vendors, music and Karaoke. Long Island South Central won best Hospitality Suite.

Our Keynote Speaker was former NFL JET Rich Caster. He was spot on at our opening session.

We had some laughs during the opening. This is exactly what Kiwanis is supposed to do, have fun.

After the opening session we went downstairs an enjoyed an Ice Cream Social, followed by dancing and hospitality suites.

It was a nonstop party.

The weekend couldn't be possible without you. There were more than 400 guests. I have seen our "Kiwanis family" share ideas and making the new members feel welcomed.

This is what our NY District is all about. We need to grow and reach the 1000 new members. Those who could not make it, you have a chance to be part of the District Convention on August 14-17 in Albany at the Desmond. I promise you it will bigger and better.

In closing I want to THANK our Circle-K and Key Club that participated, sponsored youth administrators, registration team, staging team, vendors, Lt. Governors, and the staff of the Holiday Inn making everyone feel welcome. I'm proud to be part of this family. Remember, we are the best in North America.
