Service Leadership

With the final weeks of the 2011-12 Kiwanis service year comes the time for club presidents to consider ways to recognize and thank their fellow club members and support our Kiwanis charities. Of course, Kaiser Fellowships or a Diamond Kaiser Fellowships are excellent options.

However, for some clubs, the numbers of Kiwanians deserving recognition or budgetary constraints make presenting Kaiser and Diamond Kaiser Fellowships impossible.

For those clubs who still wish to recognize members AND contribute to the New York District Foundation despite a limited budget, the Tony Palangi Service Leadership Fellowship offers an opportunity to do so.

While originally created to recognize Service Leadership clubs that contribute to the New York District Foundation, the Tony Palangi Service Leadership Fellowship is becoming a more and more popular form of recognition for Kiwanis clubs.

For a donation of $400 to the New York District Foundation, a Kiwanis club may name up to 5 Kiwanians Tony Palangi Service Leadership Fellows. In acknowledgement of a donation, the club receives a banner patch, 5 lapel pins and 5 personalized certificates.

While suitable for any Kiwanian, Tony Palangi Service Leadership Fellows are often Kiwanians being recognized for their work advising service leadership programs or chairing a committee related to Kamp Kiwanis.

Any club or Kiwanian interested in presenting a Tony Palangi Service Leadership Fellowship should contact me at (516) 333-3563. In addition, I am happy to assist any club or SLP plan activities to support the New York District Foundation.
