2023 District Convention


Foundation Annual Meeting

District Foundation President Sal Anelli conducting his final meeting as president Friday afternoon. Anelli, president for the past 16 years, said he was stepping down as an officer. Later in the meeting he was elected to a new three-year term on the board. Also elected were Kim Scharoff and Anthony Merendino.


The Ivan Tarnopoll unsung hero award was presented to Merendino in recognition of his many years of service to Kamp Kiwanis, including both construction work at the kamp and fund raising to send kids to kamp. Member Reception


A crowd attended the member reception Friday evening.





Opening Session

Kiwanis International President-Designate Katrina Baranko was the keynote speaker for the session. Baranko, a member of the Albany, Georgia, club, will become international president in October.

Host Committee Chair, District Treasurer Mike Wayne, welcomed the delegates.

Corning Mayor William Boland welcomed the delegates and didn't miss the chance to give Kiwanis a ribbing. Boland is a past president of the Corning Rotary Club.

Key Club Gov. Amy Wu. She is a student at Midwood High School in Brooklyn.

Circle K Gov. David Pritchitt. He is a student at NYIT.
