In response to the earthquake in Haiti, the Bowling Green K-Kids held a school-wide drive to collect personal care items for the victims. Hoping to reduce the spread of disease which usually follows a natural disaster, the K-Kids compiled a list of items recommended by the Red Cross and other disaster relief organizations.

After sending a letter requesting donations home with every student and a series of reminder announcements made be Project Chairperson Rachel Freed and President Kasha Bhatia, the K-Kids collected nearly 500 personal care items including, baby wipes, toothbrushes, bacitracin, soap, washcloths, band aids, toothpaste, shampoo and many other items. Also collected were several cases of bottled water.

Through the assistance of the Kiwanis Club of Town Hall, the items collected will be sent to Haiti along with nonperishable food collected by the Kiwanians.
