The Fire Department will be better able to treat children thanks to the Kiwanis Club of Port Chester/Rye Brook's donation of a Pediatric Trauma Kit.
The club recently raised $1,000 to fund the kit, which kit contains child-size items that allow for a better fit and use when treating children.
"Kids need Kiwanis, now more than ever before, and providing a Pediatric Trauma Kit is an example of how our club can meet a need in our community," said Laura Prange, club president. "We are always looking for opportunities to help our youth and the community overall. We welcome new ideas to make a difference in the community."
The club worked with the fire department and the village board so the first responders could accept the donation.
