On July 21 Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks President Mike Griffin presented the Kiwanian of the Year Award to Past Treasurer and Past Secretary Bill Baumann.

Bill and wife Barbara, operators of Wrap City and Glue, and owners of the "Blue" Building at the five corners in Old Forge are moving to Mills River, NC at the end of July.

President Griffin noted that normally awards are presented at the installation dinner in October. However, in accepting Baumann's resignation from Central Adirondack Kiwanis with regret, it was appropriate at this time to recognize the many significant contributions Bill has made to Kiwanis.

Griffin stated "It is with sincere regret that we accept Bill's resignation from our club. Bill, as Past Treasurer and Past Secreatry, has been instrumental in basic operations of Central Adirondack Kiwanis. In addition, Bill played a major role in the Snowshoe Race at Winter Carnival, the food collection in Kiwanis Food Kart project benefiting the Webb Community Food Pantry located at St. Bartholomew's Church and the Kiwanis Canoe Classic canoe and kayak race each June."

Griffin also commented "Bill and Barb have contributed much to our Central Adirondack community since their arrival eight years ago. It was our club's plan to make Bill the Kiwanian of the Year at our regular event in October, however, due to their move it is appropriate to do it now and wish this good health and happiness in their new home."
