The Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks is proud to announce the seventh annual Kiwanis Old Forge Paddle Classic 2016. This event will be held Saturday, June 25.
There are two races, which will depart from the Town of Webb Navigation Dock in Old Forge Pond. A 6 mile race from Old Forge Lakefront to Treasure Island, on First Lake, and back, and a 12 mile race from Old Forge Lakefront to Alger Island, on Fourth Lake, and back.
There will be awards for various categories of canoes, kayaks and guideboats and racers will receive an event T-Shirt and are invited to a post-race barbeque at Hemmer Cottage.
Registration is 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. will take place at The Hemmer Cottage on South Shore Road and the boats will be launched at the Town of Webb Navigation Dock and racers depart at 9 a.m.
Registration fee is $30 per adult racer and $15 per child 12 and under.
Central Adirondack Search & Rescue Team (CASART) will provide a Command Post and assist with communications.
