At the Long Island North Division K-Family meeting hosted by North Shore Kiwanis Club on Nov. 4, the Sea Cliff
K-Kids Club, whose members are 3rd to 5th graders, were honored for their diligence and dedication to community service.
As part of the agenda, District K-Kids Administrator Mickie Leamey called Sea Cliff Elementary K-Kids President Sophia Martin, 4th grader and Vice-President Henry Spina, 4th grader, to the podium with the intent to present them with a trophy and a certificate of service. She proceeded to hand the Gold Cup Trophy to Sophia with the explicit explanation of what it represented, to wit: "Honorable Mention 2014-15 International Scrapbook Contest Sea Cliff, NY District". She then handed the Certificate to Henry with its representation "2015 Scrapbook Contest 2nd Place "Homespun" International Winner Sea Cliff Elementary K-Kids Club, Kiwanis NY District, in recognition of creating a scrapbook of exceptional quality depicting the Club's contribution to the community through leadership and service."
