The Robert J. Kaiser Middle School Builders Club ended a successful year with a well-earned pizza party.

The club was involved in many worthwhile activities this year, including selling paper hearts for the Heart-A-Thon to benefit Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC), collecting money and buying toys that were delivered to Sullivan County United Way for the Project Care Program, collecting food and toys for the animals and personally delivering them to the Rock Hill SPCA and visiting the Skilled Nursing Unit at CRMC and presenting the residents with beaded jewelry that they made as well as entertaining them by singing a number of songs.

They ended the year by helping out with the Shop Rite Food Collection Day and participating in the Kiwanis One Family Walk for Hunger. Food was solicited and distributed to the various local school backpack programs as well as to the Sullivan County United Way and Food Bank of the Hudson Valley.

Each member was given a Certificate of Appreciation from Jane Sorensen, Builders Club Liaison/Monticello Kiwanis President. Sorensen and School Advisor William Oefelein congratulated the students for all their hard work, compassion and dedication to the needs of the community.

This year's officers were Steven Cammerino, president; Thomas Cammerino, vice president; David Schneider, secretary, and Emma Silverstein, treasurer.

The Builders Club is sponsored by the Monticello Kiwanis Club.
