On Nov. 6 the Monticello High School Key Club members put together their very own fundraiser called the Pumpkin Palooza. With the supervision of Key Club Advisors, Toni Carnesi-Montemurro and Mary Jean DeSocio, the event took place at the Monticello High School Athletic Field.

Despite the weather being cold and rainy, it did not deter the participants from coming out and joining in all the planned fun activities, such as Pumpkin Bowling, Pumpkin Hoola Relay Races, Pumpkin Discus Throwing, Pumpkin shot-put and Pumpkin Pair Relays.

Several Monticello Kiwanians as well as the RJK Middle School Builders Club members came out to support the event along with their School Advisor William Oefelein and Jane Sorensen, Kiwanis President and Club Advisor. In addition, the Club Career Readiness students with Advisor Eric Mabee and the 214 club students with their Advisor John Maranzana participated and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

The proceeds totaling $162 will go to Kiwanis International to be used toward the Eliminate Project.
