The Sunday afternoon SLP Food Drive Team

The Bowling Green K-Kids, WT Clarke Builders Club, WT Clarke Key Club and the East Meadow High School Key Club spent the weekend of Nov. 8-9 at a new food drive location collecting food for their sponsoring Kiwanis Club’s Thanksgiving Food Baskets.

While their Kiwanis sponsors held a food drive at the East Meadow Walbaums, these four Kiwanis-family clubs set up a companion drive of their own on the other side of town at Key Food.  At least two representatives of each club volunteered for each two-hour shift over the two days.

The Key Food shoppers were very generous.  In just the one weekend, the youth collected more than eight shopping carts of donated food and more than $270 in cash donations.
