On Oct. 25 the Oceanside Kiwanis Club along with the Oceanside Department of Community Activities hosted the annual Halloween Parade and Festival.
The day started with a Special Needs Festival. At noon club members joined about 250 kids on the school track for our Halloween Parade. The parade was led by Past Lt. Gov. and Oceanside Recreation Assistant Nancy Baxter around the track and back into the school for the festival.
Once inside the kids had the opportunity to play about 20 different games to win a prize or some treats (donated by the school PTAs), do some crafts and get a free balloon.
About 20 Kiwanians assisted Key Club, Builders Club and three K Kids Clubs run the games, help with the crafts and hand out free balloons.
