On Sept. 27 the Kiwanis Club of Middle Village once again held a Horse and Pony Ride Fundraiser at Lynne’s Riding Center in Forest Hills. Along with a $10 pony ride and raffle ticket prizes, this year's event included the FDNY's Fire Safety Experience with children given fire hats, and coloring books, while they and their parents experienced the how tos on being safe in a fire. This was the third annual Horse and Pony Ride Fundraiser the club has conducted, thanks to Corporate Sponsor Lynne’s Riding Center’s generosity, and it was, as usual, a big success, with this year’s event benefiting both the FDNY Foundation and the NY Firefighters Burn Center Foundation. Both organizations distributed pamphlets to both the children and the adults. Some of the children had never been on a horse before but they quickly got into it.
