Adirondack Kids Day is Oct. 4

On Saturday, Oct. 4, Adirondack Kids and Central Adirondack Kiwanis will sponsor the third annual Adirondack Kids Day in Inlet.

The event was inspired by the best-selling children's book series, "The Adirondack Kids" by Gary and Justin VanRiper.

The event is dedicated to children, with many free activities from 10 a..m. to 3:30 p.m., rain or shine.

The event celebrates the outdoor activities described in the Adirondack Kids series of books inspired by authors Gary and Justin Van Riper. Mark Manske with Adirondack Raptors will hold a demonstration with several of his amazing birds of prey. Master Photographer Eric Dresser will offer a slide show on wildlife of the Adirondacks. A fishing derby supervised by the New York State Department of Conservation for children 12 and under accompanied by an adult will be held.

There will be many other activities for children during the day, which will include a petting zoo, bouncy house, face painting, magician, mini-golf, outdoor recreation displays including knot tying, hiking and paddling as well as displays by various authors of children's books.
