Lt. Gov. Zainab (far right) explains to her Key Club members the purpose of the KPTC Service Leadership Committee’s Safe Kids Coloring Book.

At her recent August Divisional, Key Club Lt. Gov. Zainab Nathani asked her members to create black line drawing for inclusion in the KPTC Service Leadership Committee’s Safe Kids Coloring Books. These coloring books and a pack of crayons will be given to children who participate in Safe Kids workshops presented by KPTC Service Leadership Committee members and specially trained Key Clubbers.

The coloring books include images that reinforce Safe Kids lessons in fire safety, bike and helmet safety, water safety, pedestrian safety, infectious disease control and how to call 9-1-1. The coloring books will also be distributed by Kiwanians to children on the island of Jamaica over Labor Day weekend as part of the New York District Wellness Program.

During the meeting, Zainab encouraged Key Clubbers to be trained to become Safe Kids presenters. An upcoming Safe Kids training is planned for Sept. 27 at the Levittown Public Library. Anyone interested in the training should contact her at zainabnathani.ltg@nydkc.org or KPTC Service Leadership Liaison Rich Santer at rs2wdld@aol.com.
