June Student of the Month Honored

North Shore Kiwanis selected North Shore High School Senior Alexandra Osman as Student of the Month for June.

Her academic and athletic achievements included the following: High Honor Roll for 4 years, Health Student of the Month, Gold Medal at Long Island Math Fair Research project, Wells College 21st Century Leadership Award, Vice President of Math Honor Society, Honors with distinction Award for National Spanish Exam, Science Research member, National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society serving as Secretary for 3 years, member of Band for 3 years, plays Clarinet, Tenor Sax, and Baritone Sax, NYSSMA level 6, and Jazz Band for 3 years. Her athletic capabilities are outstanding as well with her participation in Cross country, Winter Track, Spring Track for 4 years, Captain of Cross Country Winter and Spring for 3 years, All Conference for 3 years, MVP Cross Country, and was active in Athletes Helping Athletes, dubbed Scholar Athlete of the week at News 12 Channel and Scholar of the Year in June.

Alexandra was awarded the Community Service Award with her involvement helping students after school, made videos to assist students on how to succeed in oral presentations, helped students cope with bullying, and served as a YMCA Counselor. She will be attending Boston University majoring in Biomedical Engineering.
