Long Island South Central Division Lt. Gov. Ann Torcivia names the Bowling Green K-Kids to the Kiwanis International Foundation’s Leadership Society.

The Bowling Green K-Kids celebrated the end of the 2013-14 Year of Service with a Retirement/Installation Ceremony highlighted by the presentation of numerous awards, the retirement of now Distinguished Immediate Past President Aline Asarian and the installation of President Sofia Passariello.

Guests were welcome by Bowling Green Faculty Advisor Lt Governor-Designate Rich Santer and East Meadow Kiwanis Club President James N. Smith.

District Gov. Joe Aiello also honored the club by attending the ceremony. He presented Governor’s Award to all the outgoing officers.

Long Island South Central Division Lt. Governor Ann Torcivia presented the Club with a special membership in the Kiwanis International Foundation’s Leadership Society.

A representative of District K-Kids District Administrator Mickie Leamey announced that the Bowling Green K-Kids or individual club members had swept all 8 K-Kids contests and awards at the New York District level.

Eight K-Kids members earned Gold Level Presidential Volunteer Service Awards from President Obama, two members received Eliminate Project Impact Donor Awards and, five received Service Leadership Fellowships from the Pediatric Lyme Disease Foundation. In addition, each club member received KPTC Service Leaderships in recognition of a $1,000 donation to the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center at Cohen Children’s Medical Center.

The Bowling Green K-Kids are sponsored by the East Meadow Kiwanis Club.
