The Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center at North Shore University Hospital Foundation sponsors a variety of events during the year designed to raise funds and/or to support efforts to reduce pediatric injuries or support pediatric treatment.

The following events are upcoming:

The Steven L. Bank Memorial Golf Classic to benefit KPTC North Shore will take place July 28 at the Brookville Country Club in Brookville.

The event is being sponsored by the KPTC North Shore Foundation and the Merrill Lynch North Shore Complex.

A full breakfast will be served from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and the tournament will begin with a shotgun start at noon. Lunch and refreshments will be available on the course. A reception will begin at 5 p.m., and then a dinner will be served at 6 p.m.

The cost is $260 per player for the full day; tickets to the reception and dinner are available for $125. A Gold Pass, at a cost of $300, includes raffle tickets and a Mulligan.

There will be prizes, raffles and the chance to win a car if a Hole in One occurs on the correct hole. Prizes also will be available for golfers. For more information on participating in the tournament, download the Player Registration form.

The Black & White Ball will be Sept. 12, 2008, at Leonard's of Great Neck. Tickets are $65 per person. The event benefits the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center at North Shore University Hospital.

Supporters have two ways to support the event and the foundation. They can buy tickets for the dinner, and/or buy an ad in the event's journal.
