The district's efforts to provide Katrina relief have gotten some notice in Louisiana. You can view a news article prepared by the Kiwanis Club of Ponchatoula about the arrival of a truckload of supplies from New York.
Kiwanians throughout New York State collected food, water, nonperishable items, diapers, toiletries and much needed water in mid-September. On Sept. 15 a truck made several stops and it was filled with supplies needed in the Gulf Coast area. The truck arrived in Ponchatoula, LA, on Sept. 17 with its valuable cargo. More than 50 young people were there to unload the truck which took approximately 5 hours to do.
The following pictures were taken during the loading of the tractor trailer sent by New York District Kiwanians to Louisiana on Sept. 15.
The pictures are made available for display here by Maureen Neuringer, editor of the Empire State Kiwanian. Scroll down to see them all.
